I have always had an interested in photography, even when I was little. I remember running around with a film camera taking pictures of anything and everything around me. I don’t have much from that time because it cost a lot of money to develop the film and I was young.

While planning on going to San Francisco in the fall of 2002, I knew I wanted, and needed a digital camera to take with me. I went down to Best Buy and bought my first digital point and shoot. It was the Kodak EasyShare LS443, 4 Mega Pixels. It was a great little camera that for the most part did what I needed and wanted it to do. It served me well for 5 great years before it failed. I believe the shutter broke from all the photos I took.

It took me some time to get over the lost of the Kodak. I have known for sometime that I have wanted to learn more about photography and wanted to take the next step. I did not want to miss any of the precious moments with our daughter. I asked a friend what type of camera I should get and he recommended the canon 40D. I looked around, and with loving support of my wife, we picked out the Canon XTi. I liked the camera, and it did a good job but after a while I found that I really wanted 40D. So I did the unthinkable and returned the XTi and upgraded to the 40D. I'm very happy that I did. I have enjoyed the 40D for some time now and I see that my photos are getting better as I have studied and applied what I have learned.

I have jumped around a bit, trying different areas of photography, until recently deciding on people photography. I want to capture people at work, play, and portrait settings. I will still work on other areas but I want to learn everything I can about this area before moving on. I have joined the Nevada Camera Club and I have enjoyed the meetings that I have been able to attend.
